I grew up with a Nintendo console. A few years later my parents got me a Super Nintendo. By the time the N64 console came out I was old enough to save up money for that console too. Well despite my personal nostalgia for Nintendo World, we did not rush over to Universal Studios when they opened Nintendo World. But eventually we made the day trip for it. Faith was turning 8 last August and my sister offered to take her to Universal Studios. The rest of the family decided to crash the party since Jedidiah also had grown to be a huge fan of Mario. It had been years since we had been there and Nintendo World did not disappoint. The immersion as great. Although, I can’t say I’m not a bit jealous that Japan’s version looks a lot larger and has more things. Guess we’ll just have to make our way to Japan too someday.
After spending time in Nintendo World, we made our way to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and lo and behold the birthday girl was called up to participate in Olivander’s Wand Shop. A wand eventually “chose” her. It was a special moment and fun to watch the wonder but by then we couldn’t say no and forked up the cash to purchase the wand that had chosen the birthday girl.
Before leaving we made sure to stop by the Water World show. Again, this was nostalgic for me as I had fond memories of this show from years ago. I couldn’t’ remember much but I did remember a plane flying out at some point. After the show Faith and Allie got meet the actors and take a picture.
Finally, the day ended with a birthday dinner at Buca di Beppo — probably our last time there since they had already declared bankruptcy at the time we went to have our final supper.
