I came home today from work to find two boxes at the front door. One was addressed to me and one was addressed to my wife.
I tried to think about what we must have ordered and finally a smile appeared on my face.
The Magic Bands had arrived.
What is a Magic Band? It’s a band that straps to your wrist and has an RF transmitter inside. It is linked to your pass for the Disney World parks. It also, for those who stay the the Disney resorts in Florida, acts as a room key. I wish the Disneyland them parks here in Southern California would use them. For more information, click here.
As we aren’t staying in the resort, I wondered how useful these things would be. However, since they are free for pass holders, we decided to order a pair that we could link to our passes. The information in the box says that we still need to have our ID and pass to obtain the discounts at the stores and dining. So practically speaking, we’ll only be able to use these for entry into the parks and in conjunction with Fast Pass+.
So is it worth ordering? I dunno yet.
