Journey To Jedi — Part 4 — Lavender Fields & Oceanside

Each year the 123 Farms puts on a Lavender Festival. It has been a few years since we last attended. The last time was pre-COVID. We decided to go on opening weekend. It turns out that the first two weeks was considered “pre-bloom” so entrance was free. The peak was supposedly in June but knowing we would like be stuck at home with a newborn, we decided to venture out there early. While it would have been nice to see the fields in all their glory, we knew what we were getting into and the trip was a fun opportunity to go out as a family. We even had a mini family photo session while we were there.

Memorial Day Weekend was spent nervously at Oceanside. Allie met with her OB/GYN a day before we left. They talked about reasons to come back home (for the hospital) since she was only a few weeks away from the due date. She received instructions to stay out of the ocean and she happily complied. The weekend was spent with family from Utah. Everyone was symptom-free and all adults were fully vaccinated; so we knew risks would be a low as we could achieve.

We were glad to fit it a couple last weekends away from home (and doing fun things) before baby Jedidiah’s arrival.
