Ever since I was a little girl I have watched the Rose Parade sitting on my couch with a hot beverage in hand dreaming of being right there on the streets of Pasadena. Jeffrey remembered this about me, and since we both had New Year’s Day off (a miracle), he made my dream a reality. I have have to admit I was a bit reluctant at first because I didn’t have a plan. Where do we sit? Where do we go to the bathroom? What will we eat? What if we don’t get seats? How do we stay warm?…..My mind thinks waaaaay too much. He told me to take the passenger seat, in a very literal way since driving long distances after 12 hours shifts is not encouraged, and he set it all up. After getting off of a 12 hour shift we joined his family and had a camp out on the living room floor and then us “kids” headed out at 2:30am to grab some seats. I admit it was cold and I was tired, having a whole 1.5 hours of sleep, but it was a blast. It is so much different in person. I am now remembering how I felt at 4:30am(freezing, tired and a bit hungry) but it was so worth it. I don’t think I would do it every year but it was definitely an adventure I encourage everyone to do at least once. I know I enjoyed it because I took almost 300 pictures! I am blessed to have a future husband who makes my dreams a reality. He will be doing this again when he says I do in 32 days! One more check off the buck list. ROSE PARADE (check)!
