Episode 43 — Palm Springs Aerial Tramway (Pre-COVID)

Here’s a blast from the past. I was clicking through the hard drive and looking at old clips that never made it into edits. Eventually I clicked upon a folder from August of 2019. Back in 2019, before the time of COVID, we had many options to escape the heat the Southern California summer in August. On this day we decided to escape it by heading to Palm Springs for a ride on the Aerial Tramway. It is the largest aerial tramway in the world. Passengers climb 5,873 ft in just twelve-and-a-half minutes. Construction began in 1960 and the tramway first opened in September 1963. Since 2000, the tramway has featured rotating cars that constantly rotate throughout the trip making two complete revolutions in the process.

One of my favorite things about making these videos is watching Faith at various stages in her life. In this video she had just turned 3 years-old two days prior. It is awesome to watch her change so much from year to year. As a parent it makes me — even more — want to memorize and enjoy all the moments.

If you live in the area, this is definitely a place to take the family at least once. At the time I edited this video, the COVID-19 Pandemic is raging in November of 2020 with new restriction just announced by Governor Newsom. Explore safely!
