Faith and I had a day to spend together. Initially, I had planned on taking her to the local train museum. Well, it isn’t exactly local, but it’s close enough being 20-30 minutes away. But on the way there I decided to check out the local train station to see what the COVID situation was and what routes and lines were still running. The problem was that once we got there and saw trains, Faith was insistent that she wanted to ride them.
The Metrolink website detailed the COVID precautions they were taking and even had a feature where you could look up how full the train was. According to the website, if the train was at 30% capacity or less, social distancing guidelines could be followed. The train going from San Bernardino to Oceanside was averaging 10% capacity for the weekend day that we were there.
I downloaded the app and checked out the prices. Apparently, there is a weekend day pass that costs $10 for the entire day. Why not? After a few taps, we had our passes and boarded the train on a last-minute adventure out to the coast.
